Back to Leading News
For immediate release, January 2, 2008 -- Slack & Davis, L.L.P. not only expanded its aviation team in 2007, the firm expanded its contributions and impact on the Austin community. In 2007 the firm played a larger, more significant role at several Austin non-profit organizations:

  • The Grand Opening of Austin's Joe R. and Teresa Lozano Long Center for the Performing Arts will take place March 28-29, 2008. Slack & Davis has made a multi-year commitment, pledging more than $50,000 to support this new, permanent home to the ballet, opera, symphony and more than 150 other emerging arts groups and artists.

  • Slack & Davis has extended its support of The Austin Symphony's Classical Series to cover the 2008 - 2009 season. This series presents renowned guest artists and exciting classical music to the citizens of Austin and Central Texas. Slack & Davis managing partner Michael Slack also serves on The Austin Symphony board of directors.

  • Working with Austin's ABC affiliate KVUE-TV and co-sponsor Frost Bank for the past seven years, Slack & Davis continues to seek out and recognize outstanding volunteers in our local community through the Five Who Care program.

  • In 2007, Slack & Davis continued its financial support of the Children's Medical Center Foundation (CMCF), the fundraising arm for the brand new Dell Children's Medical Center of Central Texas.

  • Slack & Davis employees made additional gifts of time and/or money throughout 2007, most notably through office projects that resulted in contributions to Capital Area Food Bank and Any Baby Can. Slack & Davis Of Counsel attorney Donna Bowen serves on the Any Baby Can board of directors.

  • Managing Partner Michael Slack, a recent graduate of the Leadership Austin program, has continually highlighted the need for closer ties between community organizations and businesses. "The winning reputation we've built in terms of cases and clients is enhanced a hundred-fold by our relationship with these fine non-profit organizations," Slack said. "Our community wins as we work side by side with these organizations to bring about positive change."
