In September, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA) named Donna Bowen as Texas state liaison for its national Women’s Caucus. She will serve as the primary point of contact for Texas’ approximately 700 female ATLA members. The ATLA Women’s Caucus is responsible for developing education, networking and leadership programs for ATLA’s female members.

Mike Davis continues to serve as a Director on the Board of TTLA. When he’s not going to bat for clients, his heart is on the baseball field. This spring he is serving again as Pony League Commissioner for the Oak Hill Youth Sports Association. He is also his son Ty’s most avid fan as Ty approaches his pivotal senior year in high school. The 6’5”, 205-pound pitcher already has signed a letter of intent to play
for Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn.

In October 2002, the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) announced that Mike Slack was elected to the grade of Associate Fellow, an honor which the AIAA described as “individuals of distinction who have made notable and valuable contributions to the arts, sciences or technology of aeronautics or astronautics.” Slack is one of a handful of attorneys who have been elected to this grade by the AIAA peer-review committee.

The American Bar Association Aviation Litigation Section recently tapped Rusty Allman to chair a Subcommittee on Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) enforcement issues. The subcommittee’s role is to explore issues arising from federal aviation regulation enforcement cases.

Our newest attorney Ladd Sanger is actively involved in the Dallas legal community, serving on the Dallas Bar Association Judiciary and Continuing Legal Education committees. “The Judiciary Committee works with the judiciary in Dallas to address current issues of concern to the Bench and Bar, conducts Bar polls, compiles a Bench Book, acts as liaison with judges in Dallas, and assists in filling vacancies,” Sanger said.
