“In the circumstances known to exist – crash near the airport, lots of fuel and passengers – the weight and balance of the plane are primary suspects,” said Mark Pierce, a partner with Slack Davis Sanger, as well as a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-certified commercial pilot and flight instructor.
Slack Davis Sanger has represented victims of Alaskan crashes in more than five different cases, several of which were significant in Alaska aviation history.
As we continue to monitor news and track further developments, we will explore issues related to this crash:
- Why flying in Alaska, which has already had several plane crashes this year, is more challenging than other states.
- Why the weight and balance of the Rediske Air aircraft is of prominent concern and how this is a frequent issue in Alaskan flights.
- Federal regulations for contract flight operators.
In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are with the families of the deceased.
