Mark Pierce Expands Professional Role and Stature in Aviation Law

Bolstering his already strong presence in the aviation law community, Slack Davis Sanger partner Mark Pierce once again has earned recognition from his aviation peers. Last month, Mark was voted president-elect of the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association (LPBA). In the same week, the Aviation Section of the American Association for Justice (AAJ) elected Mark as its chairman.

Mark is a higmark pierce photohly regarded trial lawyer who has obtained a number of significant verdicts since joining Slack Davis Sanger in 2008. He has had three Top 10 Texas verdicts in 2011 and 2012. In 2013, he was named partner at the firm. No doubt Mark will bring this same energy and success to his new roles at the LPBA and AAJ.

LPBA is a diverse group of aviation enthusiasts that promotes cooperation with governmental and other organizations to enhance general aviation safety. As president-elect, Mark will lead the continuing legal education programs at LPBA’s winter meetings in Cozumel, Mexico, February 11-15, 2015, and Watkins Glen, NY, July 22-26, 2015, and will assume the duties of president in 2016.

“It’s an honor to be asked to lead LPBA in its continuing dedication to aviation safety, just application of the law, and continuing legal education,” Mark said. “I’m looking forward to the growth of this great organization and fulfillment of its mission that was begun over 50 years ago.”

An FAA-certified commercial pilot and flight instructor, Mark also has established himself as a fearless plaintiffs’ advocate in major personal injury and wrongful death cases. As one of AAJ’s newest chairmen, he will continue that fight.

AAJ supports the work of attorneys to ensure that any person who is injured by the misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in America’s courtrooms. The Aviation Law Section focuses on air crash litigation to help those affected by air tragedies gain access to avenues of recourse and recovery.

“Only with a fair and effective civil justice system can we right the wrongs that come from negligent actions and defective aviation products,” Mark said. “The Aviation Section of AAJ is dedicated to making sure that the rights of those who are harmed are fully recognized and given a forum in the courts of America.”

We at Slack Davis Sanger are proud of Mark and we wish him much success in these new positions.
