The Rising Danger from Trucks

The American Association for Justice has just released a report titled, “Truck Safety Alert: The Rising Danger from Trucks and How to Stop It.” As you’ll read in the report, according to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), the rate of truck accidents and fatalities has begun to creep up after several years of decline.

Despite increased public awareness about driver fatigue and distractions and a greater number of truck safety inspections by state and federal agencies, the task of reducing the risks from dangerous trucks is overwhelming. There are simply too many dangers for inspectors to catch.

This is a real concern, especially now, with summer vacation season at its peak. We have seen the damage and pain that big trucks – and big truck wrecks – can inflict on unsuspecting families.
