Slack Davis Sanger LLP was originally founded in Austin, Texas, in 1993 as Slack & Davis LLP by Michael L. Slack, Mike Davis, and the late Tom H. Davis. In January 2003, Ladd Sanger joined the firm and expanded its presence to Dallas. The firm opened a third office in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2011. In April 2018, the firm changed its name to Slack Davis Sanger LLP.
The firm handles cases of catastrophic personal injuries and deaths as a result of airplane and helicopter crashes, truck and car accidents, oilfield and construction accidents, and other acts of negligence. The firm litigates cases throughout the country in both federal and state courts, and has recovered hundreds of millions of dollars for the clients it has represented, as well as making significant contributions to safety improvements in aviation products and operational practices.
Clients come to Slack Davis Sanger from all walks of life and include people harmed by negligence as well as families who have lost loved ones in a tragedy. Taking on big adversaries after a catastrophic injury demands strength, preparation, and nerves of steel. The lawyers of Slack Davis Sanger have been doing just that for more than 25 years — facing formidable adversaries throughout the United States and internationally to help victims recover the compensation they deserve.
In personal injury cases, our goal is to pursue top-dollar compensation that will fulfill our clients’ immediate and future needs. Because we work on a contingent fee basis, our advocacy is available to all. This gives ordinary citizens a voice against sometimes wealthy and powerful adversaries.
Individualized and Skilled Representation
Slack Davis Sanger provides significant resources and talent to each client’s case. The comments received from our former clients confirm the success of this philosophy.
- Our personal injury attorneys are recognized by their peers as skilled trial lawyers who can debate and dissect the technical complexities of cases, yet present to juries and judges in easily understood terms.
- Our firm has successfully litigated claims against industry giants, such as commercial airlines, aircraft manufacturers, large pharmaceutical companies, medical equipment manufacturers, hospitals, and insurance companies. We not only provide our clients with outstanding legal advice and representation, but also with caring, responsive service and guidance both during and after litigation.
- Our legal team includes a full-time nurse who works directly with our personal injury attorneys and clients on the medical and forensic aspects of every case.

Mike Slack has proven to be an invaluable member of the Austin Symphony Orchestra’s Board of Directors. In the face of a busy, busy schedule, his enjoyment of classical music and his problem-solving skills just shine through. He has brought energy and a can-do attitude to the table. We couldn’t ask for more.
The principals at Slack Davis Sanger have been our partners for years on one of the most significant community programs we have here at KVUE. It’s our Five Who Care, Five Kids Who Care public service recognition project. Their commitment to the community is evident through their commitment to this project, as they work with us to recognize individuals who have chosen to make a positive difference in the lives of others here in Central Texas. Our partnership with Slack Davis Sanger is based on our mutual respect for each other, the respect we have for those who are honored, and further, based on our mutual desire to shine a light on the positive aspects of our community.

I would like to commend Slack Davis Sanger for their willingness to contribute to the local educational community. In an era when state- and federally allocated funds are scarce, schools are forced to look to public–private partnerships to fund educational initiatives. The partners at Slack Davis Sanger were not only willing to listen to our proposal in a climate in which responses are few, they ultimately provided us with resources. We appreciate the educational opportunities, facilitated through partial funding of technological upgrades at our campus, that Slack Davis Sanger has provided.
