The Federal District Court in Texas has preliminarily approved a class action settlement with Farmers Group, Inc. on behalf of Texas auto policy holders. Class members are represented by Slack Davis Sanger, Lieff Cabraser Heimann & Bernstein, and the Law Offices of Joe K. Longley.
The lawsuit claims that beginning on January 4, 2016, Farmers engaged in unfair discrimination against certain of its existing personal auto policyholders in the State of Texas, resulting in the affected policyholders paying higher premiums for their auto insurance compared to new policyholders obtaining similar coverage. Farmers denies all allegations of wrongdoing.
Individuals who had a Texas personal auto policy with Farmers Insurance as of January 4, 2016 may be eligible for benefits from this class action settlement. Eligible individuals will receive a written notice via U.S. mail providing details about the settlement, including benefits and legal rights and options.
