Slack Davis Sanger Announces 2024 Bonnie Zook Scholarship Winner
Joe Pitchford named Inaugural Recipient of Award
June 12, 2024 — Slack Davis Sanger, LLP is pleased to announce Joe Pitchford, a 2024 graduate of Liberty Hill High School, as the recipient of the inaugural Bonnie Zook Scholarship, a testament to the dedication and stature of the founding and long-time administrator of the firm.
Pitchford, 19, a team captain of the Liberty Hill High School football team, recently committed to attend Texas Christian University in the Fall and major in Business Administration.
“I love TCU and the Texas hill country,” said Pitchford. “I would like to learn about financing and operating a successful business so that my family and I can start a land/ranch real estate and management company in the future. Receiving this scholarship is an honor, and it will definitely help my future needs.”
Arkansas native turned Texan, Bonnie Zook was the very first employee of Slack Davis Sanger and served as the firm’s legal administrator and comptroller from 1993 – 2022. She was also a leader in the Austin legal and charitable communities. In honor of Bonnie and her commitment to her profession and loyalty to the firm, the Annual Bonnie Zook Scholarship was created to award $3000 to a student studying Business Administration or Law at an accredited college or university.
“Slack Davis Sanger was a special part of my life for 29 years,” said Zook, a graduate of Texas A&M University. The firm has made a difference in my life, and I am honored to ensure it makes a difference in the lives of others, like Joe Pitchford, through this scholarship.”
